Unique Concentrate From The Peel of An Orange Offers A Total Organic, Non-Toxic Solution For All Your Cleaning Needs
Investigative Reporter, Gregory Ciola, Interviews Larry White From That Orange Stuff
There is new overwhelming data linking common household cleaners to such serious illnesses as Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Asthma, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and even Cancer.
An Environmental Protection Agency survey concluded that indoor air is 3 to 70 times more polluted than outside air. Numerous EPA studies have shown that children exposed to the toxic chemicals in household cleaners can develop learning disorders including but not limited to ADD and ADHD. Long-term exposure to the toxic chemicals in everyday cleaners can also cause damage to the liver, kidneys, nervous system, and respiratory tract.
More than 150,000 synthetic chemicals have been introduced since 1942 and are in widespread use today. Of these chemicals, less than 2% have ever been tested for toxicity, birth defects, or their mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. It’s time we learned what the large chemical manufacturers aren’t telling us.
Below is a transcript of an interview Gregory Ciola conducted with Larry White, president of That Orange Stuff.
GC: Larry, tell our audience about this product. How did you discover it and how can it be used for cleaning?
LW: I was a distributor for a relatively large company that distributed cleaning products, and they were telling their customers that their product was organic, and then we found out later down the road that it wasn’t true. I thought we needed to get something on the market that actually did what it said it was going to do and was organic.
I got together with a couple of people, and we came up with this formulation of a product that is orange based. It is made from the peel and seed of an orange and then mixed with a surfactant and emulsifier that makes it mix with water because obviously oil and water don’t mix that well with water. It is entirely organic, and it replaces every toxic chemical that you have in your house. It’s just a great product.
GC: Is it something you can substitute for all your cleaning needs?
LW: Yes, it’s a concentrated product so depending on how much water you mix with it, you can use it for different applications. Everything from sinks, tubs, towels, counter tops, you name it. It takes the stains out of the carpet, upholstery, you can use it instead of bleach in your laundry. The sky is the limit on what this product can do. Not only does it replace everything, it takes the place of all those toxic chemicals that you are using.
You’ve probably got a cleaner for your bathroom, kitchen, sink, tub, carpet, windows, something you spilled on your garage floor, and a house full of air fresheners. There are so many different things that you spend thousands of dollars over the years buying. They may work. I don’t think they work as well as our product. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be selling it, but I can say for a fact that they are not healthy, and our product is. That Orange Stuff is completely organic, and there are just so many different things that it would do. It’s amazing.
GC: I will tell you from my experience because I’m in Florida and the cockroaches are inescapable for the most part. If you live in Florida, you are going to see some at some point. I’ve gone on vacation with my wife to places at the beach where you tend to see more cockroaches, especially in some of those older homes you can rent on the beach, and we always take That Orange Stuff with us. If you spray this on a cockroach, it will flip over and die in less than 5 seconds. It’s amazing. Cockroaches are so fast it’s hard to get it on them, but if you can get that spray on them you will see them run, and they will stop and flip over, and they will be dead in seconds.
LW: We don’t actively market it as an insecticide because it obviously requires an EPA registration number for that purpose. The way that this product works is it is an emulsifier. It breaks things down at the molecular level. Insects breathe through their outer shell, so when you spray it on them, it starts breaking down the outer shell. It kills them, and it’s very effective. We have sold it for years.
The EPA has tightened down on what you can do, what you can market, what you can say and what you can’t say. Due to the EPA regulations, we can’t make that claim, but I have testimonials, stacks of them of how people have been using toxic chemicals for insects. They worked ok and now that they are using this product, especially in applications in the yard where you have fire ants because fire ants are pretty smart. You put something on them and they pick up the queen and they move six feet away.
We’ve also had people tell us that when they started cleaning with this product that they noticed it also solved their problems with household insects like ants, roaches, and spiders. That could be because you are keeping your house really clean and this is effective, and it could also be because they don’t like the D-limonene, which is the base chemical for this product.
GC: Well, I’ll tell you I had a golden retriever for over ten years and I never once saw a flea on that dog. I kept him clean, but again, I live in Florida. My dog was outside running around on the grass. I used to spray it around where he would sleep on the floor, around the house and it’s amazing that it totally kept fleas at bay. People were amazed, and I never used to buy that chemical application to put on his neck either. I knew that was a chemical. How healthy can that be for your pet when you put that garbage on their neck?
LW: They absorb it and then the fleas die because they bite the dog, and the dog is toxic. You are right; it is not safe. The best thing about having distributors of this product such as yourself is that you have an educated clientele, and you can give a testimonial and say this is what we did with it, and it worked great. Since you are not the manufacturer of the product, you can tell your customers that it works great, and this is how I used it.
We actually had a kennel in Texas that bought the product to clean their cages. Not only did it clean the cages very well and get rid of the urine and dog odors, but it also stepped down the problem with the fleas and the ticks. It’s 100% non-toxic, so it works really well if you have small children and animals. You shouldn’t be using toxic chemicals because it gets close to the ground when you are spraying it.
GC: Let’s talk about the price. It’s $22.95 for a 16-ounce bottle. Some people might think, “Wow that’s expensive!”, but the fact is, it’s a concentrate. You only need a small amount to make a lot correct?
LW: Yes, it breaks down to about 50 cents per 32-ounce bottle. I challenge everybody to do this. Walk down the aisle where the cleaning chemicals are for your floor and windows and all that good stuff and flip it over. Look at the back and see what’s in it. You will find that it’s about 2% active ingredient and 98% inert. Inert means that it is a baseline sealer that has no outcome whatsoever on the application that you are using it on. It’s water, flat out water.
We made a product that is 80-85% concentrated D’ Limonene and the reason why it costs a little bit more is that it is natural. It comes from the peel of an orange and the concentrate also weighs a little bit. 5-15% is an emulsifier and surfactant; it is what makes the oil mix with water, so it is 100% of the product you require. There are no inert ingredients in it. There is no water in it. You just put 2-ounces of it to a gallon of water out of your faucet. The water out of your faucet is most likely less expensive than the water in the cleaner that you are buying at the grocery store.
GC: Do you ever recommend using this straight instead of mixing it with water?
LW: There are some applications that you can use it on straight. I caution people when they use it straight because it is very potent and you always want to test it on a small area first. The only time that I have used it straight is to remove paint, nail polish, ink, those sorts of things. We have a brochure, and it has the directions on the bottle as to what kind of mixture you need to use for this and what kind of a blend you need to use for that. It replaces everything. If you are cleaning the glass with it, you use a lot more water than if you are trying to take a stain out of a carpet. The cost for the initial purchase is higher; we don’t make any bones about that. The cost per use is much lower than the cost per use of any commercial chemical that you can pick up at the grocery store.
GC: Plus, it is a lot safer. You even print it on the label that it is non-poisonous, non-toxic, contains no solvents or petroleum distillates. I know you’ve done some public speaking and have gotten into a lot of this before about all the different chemicals that we are exposed to and how this is directly linked to an epidemic of disease. Can you touch on that briefly?
LW: The rates for ADD, ADHD, Cancer, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, liver disorders, brain disorders are skyrocketing. We are a sick nation, and I don’t mean that in a political way. Since 1942 there has been over 150, 000 consumer chemicals introduced. What’s a consumer chemical? That’s the chemical where you can go to the grocery store and purchase with no license or any required professional degree. It’s your cleaner, your insecticide, or anything that you can buy at a major retailer. There have been no long term studies on what these chemicals can do to your health.
GC: Not to mention that they don’t even do any studies on the combination of them either. Not only do they not do enough studies on each chemical individually, what is the compounding effect when you mix them all together?
LW: It’s interesting that you say that. Have you ever heard those reports on the news where hundreds of people are sitting on the curb outside because all of a sudden there was a toxic smell in their building and everybody was getting sick? Nobody knew the source. That happened here in the Dallas area, and they figured it out.
They had a carpet cleaner that came in one day. Then someone came in and was spraying all the plants in the office for spiders and the residue of that spider killer mixed with the residue that was used from the carpet cleaner solutions created a toxic chemical that drove everybody out of the building, and they had to go to the hospital. Nobody knew.
You’ve heard of sick building syndrome. We don’t have out gas anymore. We don’t have spring doors. Our houses are sealed shut. There is no air circulation. We don’t open our doors and windows because of energy conservation and security. Everything that you put in your house in a minute level remains and the more you add on top of it the larger concentration and percentage that you get. And we wonder why we are sick, why our kids have asthma that is 600% higher than they were even 20 years ago. You are exposing your body to all these toxic chemicals in a place that you are supposed to be the safest; your home. I am not a fan of the EPA, but they will tell you that indoor air is 5-70 times more polluted than outdoor air. It’s a fact.
GC: In addition to that you are talking about chemicals that are in your carpets, upholstery, couches, the paint that is on your wall, the drywall, you name it. We are surrounded by chemicals.
LW: Unfortunately, we are never going to be able to get rid of all of them. I don’t think we can all move to Montana and live in the Big Sky country under a tent. There is no way to get rid of all of it. I tell people you just can’t fill your house with all these cleaners. That’s a lot of money. I would love for you to throw them all away and start over, but I understand there is an expense involved. Get a bottle of That Orange Stuff and every time you use up one of those cleaners throw it away and do not replace it. Over a period of time, you would have completely replaced every toxic chemical in your house with something that works and is extremely effective and cost so much less than these cleaners. And it is so much safer.
GC: You say on your bottle, “Made from the peel of an orange — kitchen, bathroom, laundry, upholstery, any stain, any odor,” is that for real?
LW: It is for real. I will tell you we guarantee this product 100%, no questions asked. Will it take out 100% of the stain? No, it will not. I mean if you ever see anything that will take out the stain 100% buy it, buy stock, buy the company because it is magic. I’ve had very few things that I cannot get the stains out of. In the 15 years, I have been doing this I can tell you that I have refunded maybe five times. People don’t want their money back on this product. It is a fantastic product.
I can tell you that I did refund a lady her money one time. She got ball point pen ink on a soft leather very expensive purse. It took most of it out, but it didn’t take all of it out. I understand that. We guarantee 100% of the time, and that is us telling you that if you buy it, and it does not work, we will refund your money. We know that now and then we are going to run into something that it’s not going to work on. It happens.
GC: I have never taken a return yet. You talk about stains. I have taken out some pretty incredible stains with it. I had some of my kids get a hold of a black Sharpie marker one day and write all over the wall on the base board of my house. My wife started freaking out, and she was thinking, “Oh my God, we have to paint the house.” I took that stuff straight and put it on a sponge, and I rubbed it on, and it came off in seconds. I have never seen anything that has taken Sharpie markers off.
LW: When we use to do street shows I actually demonstrated with it taking grape juice out of a carpet and a Sharpie marker and a crayon off of the counter top. People were just amazed.
GC: Do you have any parting comments that you want to make with our audience?
LW: Just think about the products that you are buying, think about the toxicity that you are putting in your home, think about the thousands of dollars that you spent over your lifetime buying tons and tons of cleaning chemicals. Why do you need one for your sink, one for your counter, carpets, and clothes? Why do you need all that? Every one of them is toxic. Try this product. I guarantee that you will like it and if you know Greg, he is a reputable guy; he wouldn’t carry something that he knows is not going to work. So try the product. I believe you are really going to like it.
