One of the biggest stories to make headline news is the story of Epipen costs. This is an emergency life saving drug that costs a few dollars to make and has been on the market for decades. Big Pharma is using this drug to completely rip the American people off. The cost of Epipen in America has risen from around $25-$30 a shot back in the 1990’s to over $600. All of this done with both Democrats and Republicans in cahoots with pharmaceutical lobbyists to keep this charade going by blocking all prescription drug imports from Canada and other countries where these drugs are a fraction of the cost.
Why is this happening?
It’s because America is the cash cow for pharmaceutical companies. It’s bad enough that the so called Affordable Care Act has been the most unaffordable legislation passed in U.S. history, but the fleecing gets even worse as all these drugs that are made for virtually nothing cost Americans hundreds of times more than the rest of the world pays. It is high time that this ends. Millions of Americans take drugs and it is bankrupting this country. The #1 expense in America is health care. It even costs more today than housing and food combined. There should be bipartisan legislation passed immediately that ends this blockade and allows for the importation of pharmaceutical drug imports.
