I just finished watching the movie “Consumed – What Are You Eating?” with my wife and it is one that I highly recommend you see if you want to get a better glimpse into the GMO crisis going on with our food. This movie is available on Netflix, Amazon, Google and other online movie platforms. It was a very accurate depiction of what has been happening with our food supply since the 1990’s. The producers did a very good job on their research as far as some of the more controversial issues that have occurred with GMOs. I am sure that Monsanto is not happy about this movie.
I can tell you from my own experience researching this issue and from hearing from other farmers that what is conveyed in the movie has happened to many farmers all across this country. The storyline is pretty intense as the biotech company in the movie is conspiring to keep research data hidden showing evidence of harm. Biotech police are working as a hit squad to silence critics.
Here is the storyline.
When Sophie’s son, Garrett, develops a mysterious illness, she embarks on a search for answers. This leads her into the controversial world of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) where a sociopolitical battle rages between organic farmers and big biotech corporations. As her desperation grows, so too does her quest for knowledge. And the deeper she goes, a more heightened sense of danger develops that preys on her state of mind, as she attempts to discover the root cause of her son’s illness.
Watch the trailer.
